The "I can't get you out of my mind" post

I know you are all expecting the Thanksgiving and Jason's birthday post but since our pictures are on our desktop and I'm using the almost useless netbook, that post will have to wait.

It all started around 2 am on Black Friday, sure my shopping adventure started earlier than that but that is when I spotted a hot little number. My friend Kendra and I were in the Saks outlet just looking around and gawking at how amazingly expensive the bags were, and these are discount outlet prices!

In the clearance section thrown in with a bunch of blingy clutches was a gorgeous green Chloe bag. It had no tag, there were no other Chloes around. I tried it on and fell in love. The patent was so soft and it looked so good on! I knew that even at outlet and clearance section prices with an extra 30% off on top of that, it was still going to be our of my price range. Since it didn't have a price tag on it I have been wondering everyday just how out of my price range it was. I thought maybe I could find a knock off but no luck. I need to get it out of my mind.....

This bag is sadly not in my closet. In regular poor girl fashion I can only window shop at expensive stores and instead of bringing this bag home on Black Friday I got a bunch of cheap stuff from Old Navy. Old Navy is my Frenemy. I dislike ON because everything is so cheap and pathetic but then again I love it because I am so cheap and pathetic I have nowhere else to go! My whole family and I will strut our ON gear with pride this year, as we do every year and I will push this Chloe bag far away from my thoughts.....

Nola's numbers take a hit!

Nola is our little bean sprout. She went in for her 9 month check up today and we found out just how small she is. Nola is weighing in at 16 pounds (7th percentile) and 26 inches in height (8th percentile). Although tiny, Nola is healthy as ever and eats all day long. She is obsessed with food, so much so that we have to offer her anything we're eating or she will flip her lid!
This little beauty is truly a special baby and we just love having her around. We can always make her laugh and she spends most of the day with a smile on her face. I just love the way she lights up when she sees any one of us, that girl adores her family as much as we adore her! Its so much fun to watch Lucy and Nola together, little besties already. We love our girls!

Trick or Treat Action

So here are some shots of the actual trick or treating that went down and also some lazy shots around the house.

Nola is getting more alert these days.

Lu loves her remote control car she got for her birthday.

Daddy may have been hasty in carving the pumpkins two weeks before go time. These poor guys were almost caving in by the time Halloween actually came.

Future surgeon plying her precise craft to the art of trick or treating.

Her first trick or treat ever with the next door neighbors. To our surprise they had a nice apple for her (and some regular candy). They wanted to throw something healthy in the mix. Funny enough, Lucy was gnawing on it most of the time we were trick or treating. Go figure.

Enzo the cat kept a watchful eye on us for the first few houses.

Lucy working it with a hug for the neighbor.

Sorting through the loot.

Talk about lazy parenting, we left Nola in her church dress all day afterwards. Even for her naps.

Enzo joined the family hang session one Sunday evening.

Nola - found her toes.

An unsuccessful (or successful, depending on the perspective) foray into Spaghetti-O's.

Future architect.

Welcome to the world Oliver Thomas Cobabe!

Congratulations Karin and Brian. They just welcomed their firstborn son to this world, early this morning (at least on the Eastern Time Zone). 7 pounds 9 ounces and 20 inches long. We love you guys! Can't wait to introduce the girls to their new cousin.
